Stuart_G from WRX personal note sent 10/20/22

Dear Stuart,

Please consider this just a courtesy note to do with as you wish. Presuming that you are genuinely trying to help golfers and the game (as am I), it concerns how inaccurate or poor your understandings unfortunately still are regarding certain swing and clubfitting topics as per your continued postings on the WRX forums. (I am not referring to the more advanced stuff, some of which is probably beyond my current scope of knowledge, but rather much more basic stuff, which can potentially be a bit more uncomfortable when it comes to light.)

Largely due to the posting terms of that and other similar forums, I would generally never post anything of a genuinely corrective, original, or otherwise protectable nature (noting that this note in and of itself is copyrighted matter, none of which should be repeated anywhere without express permission). But on one of the few occasions I did post in the past broadly stating how erroneous you were (not recalling the specific subject without looking back), I do vaguely recall a public comment from you that I was obtuse or something similar.

Notwithstanding that occurrence, I chose to send this to you anyway. Not too long ago I completed a book titled, “Ridding the Golf Industry of Those Having Unclean Hands: Proper Swing and Clubfitting Principles Administered with Clean Hands™” and recently made it more publicly available. It prominently contains very rudimental swinging and clubfitting theories and practices that previously have been extremely incorrect and unsound. (And only after they are properly understood first can any more advanced elements be more effectively applied where useful.)

The book can be found for sale at the WaggleWeight.com website, along with countless articles that (at least at the moment) are free to reference. (There is at least one entry there actually titled after you and certain of your WRX content from a while back, though there again without looking back I cannot recall what the particular subject was about.)

If you are going to continue posting about swing and/or clubfitting subjects that involve swingweighting, grip sizing, feel, and/or other topics that respectfully you are still quite deficient about and hurting the game with, you might want to consider purchasing the book and learning its contents before posting much more. If choosing to do so, publicly acknowledging any of your deficiencies, and openly posting where you finally properly learned about certain subjects where applicable (without actually infringing upon any of my work of course), it could potentially be quite beneficial to both of us.

Confidentially sending you a personal note first (as opposed to just publicly posting certain items more out of the blue and without notice) could as examples ultimately help me to obtain more publicity or traction for the book’s contents (very badly and widely needed throughout the game as soon as possible), and help you to maintain or even further your respect and reputation on the WRX forum site.

Illustrating this, I have written different variations of the following what seems like a hundred times already, yet in the end have chosen to not publicly post it to date. But for the good of the game this may need to change quite soon. And it would be very fitting to post each and every time you for instance make the wholly uninformed statement that swingweighting has always been meant to approximate an MOI (Moment of Insanity) match among golf clubs. (While that nonsense could have possibly come from Wishon, offhand it sounds more like one of the absurdities perpetrated by Tutelman.)

Even after some 31,000+ posts to date, Stuart_G still has absolutely no idea of what golf club swingweighting even is. He is largely just blindly repeating what he thinks he learned from other clueless people before him. Stuart has been badly misleading people regarding this topic (and other topics), and it would not be surprising if more people have ultimately abandoned the game rather than entered or stayed with it based upon certain of his erroneous advices.

Based strictly upon his written explanations (because I have never had the pleasure of evaluating his actual golf swing), Stuart’s personal golfing motion has apparently never matched up decently with swingweighting’s technical parameters, and he has never been able to personally experience swingweighting firsthand the way the specification does and is meant to function. Because if these things were true he would know what the specification comprises, which he clearly does not.

And I will be perfectly blunt here. Very broadly (so there can indeed be many exceptions), the technical parameters of swingweight tend to become better fitting and work better for golfers as they play and practice more over a longer period of time. The specification was, after all, designed around more (and not less) experienced players of the day, as certain other clubfitting specifications have also been (and rightly so).

So whenever coming across anyone as oblivious as Stuart is regarding swingweight (which displays serious deficiencies in understanding both golf swing and clubfitting performance simultaneously), there is commonly a preliminary evaluation (among those who know better) that the person has rather limited swing development and experience unless and until proven otherwise. And anyone reading this can interpret it any way he/she likes regarding whether to listen to what the person has to say about various swing and/or clubfitting elements.

The core essence of the above cannot really be sugarcoated and it is simply true. But comments surrounding its essence can certainly be made to vary substantially, ranging from very kind, tame, and respectful to extremely harsh, scathing, and sarcastic in nature. And admittedly great restraint is needed to not more naturally pursue the latter given the circumstances of game damage and deterioration that you (though hardly you alone) have contributed to over time (notwithstanding a presumption that it has been done innocently).

In quickly mentioning one other recent posting of yours, you expressed how bad most typical clubfitters currently are (and you are perfectly correct about that). Yet in the same post you yourself provided a listing of the order you feel club specifications should be fit in, a listing that is equally if not more unknowing than any number of the bad clubfitters you also referred to. The satirical fun I could have with that (as well as certain other comments of yours) is quite hard to resist, but thus far at least I have been able to do it.

So I once again urge you to consider purchasing and learning the book’s content if you are intending to continue and before posting too much more about any swinging and/or clubfitting principles, theories, and/or practices. Given the number of various individuals and organizations I intend to have contacted regarding the recently released book, honestly it could potentially be a more significant factor for you than me. But I cannot deny that a contact or association with one or more like you could potentially be quite significant for me also.

There is really no need to directly respond to me in any way unless desired. I can and will choose my next step(s) based upon various things that I observe moving forward. Thank you very much for your time. I appreciate it and my best to you.

Sincerely,

Bill Kostuj
